Dwellers on the Threshold: A David Lynch Tribute Exhibition

(LA Trend) — SugarMynt Gallery is proud to host their latest exhibition, “Dwellers on the Threshold”, a weird and wonderful tribute to the legendary works of filmmaker David Lynch, and is a must-see for film and art aficionados.

Since unleashing his bizarre masterwork, Eraserhead, on the world in 1977, David Lynch has garnered four Academy Award nominations and has amassed a cult-like following for his unique style, haunting imagery, eccentric characters, and twisted stories.

“Dwellers on the Threshold” celebrates the singular body of work that Lynch has had on the world of cinema, and will feature art that commemorates the following Lynch works:

  • Twin Peaks
  • Twin Peaks: The Return
  • Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me
  • Mulholland Drive
  • Lost Highway
  • Blue Velvet
  • Wild At Heart
  • Eraserhead
  • Inland Empire
  • Dune
  • The Elephant Man

Curated by Ariella Vaystukh, this one of a kind show features the work of an array of talented and daring artists such as:

Each of these works explores a different theme or aspect associated with David Lynch’s corpus, from good and evil to interconnectedness, to duality and doppelgängers, to the surreal and the supernatural, and more.

In addition to honoring the brilliant mind of a master filmmaker with artwork that’s every bit as strange and special as its inspiration, SugarMynt Gallery will get a Lynchian makeover with decorations to recreate the aesthetic and iconic scenes of Twin Peaks and other classic David Lynch films. There will be plenty of opportunities to take some great photos, so be sure to bring your camera!

Located in South Pasadena, the notorious filming location for the 1978 John Carpenter horror classic, Halloween, and right next door to the original Michael Myers house and within walking distance of many of the filming locations, SugarMynt Gallery is an art gallery that hosts interchanging art exhibitions year-round with a “Where every day is Halloween” theme. It is best known for its annual Halloween exhibit, “Welcome to Haddonfield”, a tribute to the Halloween films.
