Wine and Dine at Urban Press Winery in Burbank

(LA Trend) — While Napa may attract the bulk of attention in the California wine scene, that doesn’t mean that Los Angeles is without some quality wineries.

One such winery is Urban Press Winery, a boutique winery whose mission is to bring the tradition of California winemaking to the L.A. area with its lovely Wine Tasting Room and Wine Bar in Burbank’s beautiful and vibrant downtown neighborhood, just a stone’s throw away from Los Angeles, Hollywood, West Hollywood, and Glendale.

Founded in 2016 by vintner Giovanni D’Andrea, Urban Press Winery follows in the footsteps of California’s first winemakers who date back all the way to the early 1800s. There’s nothing extravagant about the way D’Andrea makes wine—he simply selects premier grapes harvested by the finest growers around, then crushes, ferments, and bottles their artisanal wines in small batches to ensure that every drop of wine produced is given the proper care and attention it deserves. While the methods may be old, the taste is eternal.

And now you can experience these time-tested wines, along with some of their amazing cuisine, at Urban Press Winery throughout the week. Their gorgeous Private Italian Villa Patio is open (along with limited indoor dining) Wednesday through Sunday, with a menu that includes such items as Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon, Picante Shrimp, Pasta alla Puttanesca, and more, as well as a variety of cheese board options.

Stop on by Wednesdays and Thursdays from 5pm to 7pm for their special Happy Hour menu, featuring Margherita Pizza, Garlic Truffle Fries, and a Picante Shrimp Appetizer. Don’t forget to grab a glass of wine or two during this time—it’s $2 off the regular price of each glass!

“But what about weekends at the Urban Press Winery?” you might ask. Don’t worry, they keep the grape-filled fun going through the end of the week, as well. Come on by on Saturday and Sunday mornings in their private outdoor deck or tent for an alfresco brunch where you can dine on Steak with Pesto Pepitas, Waffles Brûlée, Breakfast Pizza, and more. Oh, and each reservation comes with the option for 90 minutes of unlimited mimosas for an additional $25 per person (with the purchase of an entree). You can make your brunch reservations here.

Or come by a little later in the day for a good old-fashioned wine tasting, that’s a perfect time to try some quality wine with a date, a small group of friends or family, or just by your lonesome. This is a great time to learn about the different varieties of wine from knowledgeable Urban Press Winery staff members. There are two options available for their weekend wine tasting: 6 pours for $15 per person, or the Couples Deal, which features 6 pours per person along with a gourmet cheese board for two (featuring their exciting new Italian cheeses) to share at $50. You can make your wine tasting reservation here.
